Carlson Gracie was born August 13, 1932 as the oldest son of Carlos Gracie, the first person who helped develop Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Goes International founder, Allan, is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Carlson and has long been inspired by his teachings and philosophy.
Carlson’s inspiration to Goes International reaches beyond measures within the company. The legacy he passed on through Allan becomes our foundation. Carlson was an advocate for equality. His mindset was not limited any culture, race, age, preference as he believes that we are all equal. This very broad understanding of humanity allowed him to embrace and welcome all people to his art, Jiu-Jitsu.
As Jiu-Jitsu was traditionally reserved to those who were fortunate, Carlson passionately, reached out to the poor and allowed the art to be experienced by many.
Master Carlson Gracie passed away February 1st 2006. His teaching and legacy continues. Goes International continues the expression of art by believing in expressing love, uniting all people, embracing nature and appreciating art.
